Our Train System Engineering team is currently looking for an experienced Train System Engineer (Mechanical Engineer) to join their team in Dandenong, Victoria. As the train System Engineer your primary responsibility will be to specify the train, perform trade off on architecture definition and technically lead the engineering studies in order to reach the performances.

Reporting directly to the Site Train System Manager, you will be working on several Rolling stock projects with a focus on the VLocity project.

Key Accountabilities and responsibilities for this role:

  • Operational analysis definition and validation by the Customer, working with internal stakeholders to define activities
  • Functional analysis and specification to the train level Failure Mode, Effects and Criticality Analysis (FMECA) in coordination with RAMS team
  • To define the global Train System architecture in line with the external/ internal requirements and to ensure consistency and compatibility between all the sub-systems specifications for the applicable train configuration
  • During train revenue services, you will action technical open issues and provide resolutions in line with project strategy provided by Project Engineering Manager, from investigation to modification implementation and problem closure
  • Providing Return of Experience (RoE) to be implemented in reference solutions by contributing to the RoE committee and documentation update
  • Verification & validation activities: Defining and performing Train verification strategy in close collaboration with all Engineering teams and Certification & Validation teams

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Rail industry experience is preferrable
  • Some experience in Systems integration in a mechanical engineering capacity
