Alstom has a rare opportunity for a Corporate Communications & CSR Director, ANZ based in the Sydney or Melbourne office. Reporting to the VP Communications and CSR for the APAC region, you will be accountable for devising and executing the communications strategy to build, develop and promote Alstom’s image and support business growth in the country as well as new areas of growth in Australia and New Zealand.
Responsibilities include:
- Building up a relationship of trust with Communications management and Country Managing Director and position the Communications Department in such a way as to ensure its meaningful involvement with project teams
- Supporting local management at sites and country level in engaging employees around country priorities in coherence with Alstom global strategy
- Building awareness on company’s products and solutions
- Developing CSR and employee volunteering programs
- Leading and manage the Communications team
- Supporting tender communications with positioning of Alstom offer and solutions
- Shaping employee engagement strategies in close collaboration with the HR team
- Building relationships with journalists/bloggers and manage all aspects of media relations including press release development and distribution, press conferences, press trips etc.
- Crisis communications and budget management
- Marketing communications including event participation strategy and conceptualization and execution of customer driven events
- Manage media partnerships and social media presence
- Branding and visual identity of Joint Ventures and Alstom in ANZ
- Building relationships with NGO’s to drive country CSR actions
- Coordinating with the internal communications community and Alstom management based in the APAC region and Paris
Requirements to succeed in this role:
- Tertiary degree in Communications, Marketing, Business or equivalent
- Proven background operating in a Senior internal communications leadership role
- Sound customer/media relations experience within a large multinational organisation
- Ability to communicate effectively to drive positive outcomes with key internal and external stakeholders
- Excellent relationship building, influencing and negotiation skills
- Communications team leadership and management experience
- Journalism background is desirable
