Purpose of the Job:
- The candidate will be overall in charge of inspection and testing for the signalling works, and responsible for the planning, organisation and satisfactory completion of the testing and commissioning.
- He/ She will be responsible for the planning and implementation of an effective, proven, auditable process for testing and commissioning activities associated with verification and validation of the safety integrity of the signalling system, and for the compliance of new or altered signalling with relevant standards when commissioned.
The Signalling TIC / Functional Tester role will report directly to the Testing Manager. The role will be Full-time Permanent based out of our Perth office.
The key responsibility of the RMS Commissioning Engineer will be but not limited to:
- Signalling TIC/Functional Tester will lead and coordinate the site testing activities developing test plans and test cases and leading a test team performing signalling verification, testing and commissioning activities in CTC and Conventional Signalling environment across multiple systems and suppliers.
- Take overall responsibility for ensuring compliance with legislation, standards, procedures, specifications, assurance and governance for all site testing activities, leading teams of test leads and testers across both internal and contract resources and sub-contractors for all site testing activities, liaising with key stakeholders, and obtaining appropriate approvals.
- Be responsible to investigate any faults and failures throughout the project delivery lifecycle, preparing and delivering reports and findings, and liaise with the test manager and key stakeholders to identify issues and solutions where appropriate.
- Accurately determine the scope to be performed and lead in the planning and scheduling of testing activities to ensure that they are adequately and competently resourced, planned and executed in accordance with the project schedule and delivered within time, cost and quality expectations, and ensuring that all process documentation and certification is completed, controlled, maintained, and finalised in accordance with project requirements.
- Liaise with the Test Manager in the development, maintenance and deployment of all testing and commissioning process documentation, ensuring it is prepared, internally reviewed and approved prior to submission for formal client review and approval.
- Ensure all works are performed complying at all times with health, safety and all relevant regulations and guidelines confirming that a safe system of work is in place and effective, that all interfaces between equipment under test and operational equipment have been clearly identified and that relevant controls are in place, robust and followed maintaining regular communication with key stakeholders.
Qualifications / Experience:
- 10 years in Signalling Testing and relevant 5 years as Signalling Functional Tester.
- Familiar with Rail Safety National Law and Project and CENELEC requirement.
- Familiar Signalling Testing and Commissioning in WA Mining environment (ideally BHP).
- CBTC/ETCS testing experience is desirable.
