The Opportunity
The role of the Reliability & Maintenance Engineer is to provide technical support to the Lead Service Engineer and Melbourne LRV service teams. Located in Preston, it is responsible for the revision / creation of manuals, systems, standards, maintenance regimes and technical solutions to improve the performance and reliability of the vehicles. The role will monitor performance of fleet, investigate and propose performance improvement solutions, lead and maintain visualisation boards, and improve maintenance regimes and work flow efficiency.
Reliability Engineering
- Apply Engineering principles to investigate vehicle trends and perform root cause analysis
- Apply FRACAS process and RCA to identify and resolve system performance defects
- Responsible for the Response Team in the investigation and analysis of trends in vehicle performance (defects, reliability, availability etc.).
- Responsible for the development of researched solutions to address vehicle performance trends with the aim of minimising or eliminating their reoccurrence. Such solutions may involve changes to suppliers, design, maintenance regimes etc. and will require close liaison with other functional departments such as engineering, supply management and customers.
- Provide Failure Mode analysis to determine suitable controls to improve performance and to allow vehicles to remain in service with non-safety critical defects.
- Assist in the development of useful data collection systems relating to vehicle condition, performance, reliability etc.
