The Opportunity

We are currently seeking for an experienced Senior Contracts Administrator. Based in Wellington, New Zealand, you will be joining our high-performing and growing team, to support the projects within our Digital, Infrastructure and Signalling business. You will be working in close collaboration with the Project Director and core project team and providing guidance and leadership to develop, implement, and drive contract/claim management and risk mitigation strategies in accordance with Alstom’s business objectives. Your key responsibilities include:

  • Contributing to the preparation of the Contract Summary and ensuring it is widely communicated and regularly updated.
  • Contributing to the preparation of the Contract Management Strategy Plan (CMSP) and ensuring it is updated on a quarterly basis.
  • Monitoring works toward contract obligations, including monitoring of project schedule toward achieving contractual milestones.
  • Ensuring timely issuance of contractual notices to customers/partners.
  • Establishing and implementing project specific commercial procedures, particularly regarding correspondences, notifications, insurance, variation requests/orders and claims preparation files.
  • Developing project specific processes and ways of working for contract/claim management.
  • Providing advice on specific issues, risks, and contractual/claims activities, taking into account the contract and business objectives.
  • Reporting on contract management and claims activities to the project, and Legal, and Contract Management teams.
  • Providing training on contract/claim management to key stakeholders, including project management, finance, engineering, and sourcing communities.

About You

We are seeking a proactive individual with a strong background in project focused contract management. You will also have:

  • The proven ability to read and interpret contractual documents, including terms and conditions, planning, and technical specifications.
  • The ability to understand project financials and the impact of contract/claim management on project’s profitability.
  • Review of head contracts to ensure all contractual procedures are implemented and maintained.
  • Ensure all warranties, bonds, insurances, guarantees, etc. are in place, maintained and updated in accordance with the contract and follow client requirements.
  • Demonstrated experience providing commercial guidance to senior stakeholders in a commercial complex environment.
  • Significant experience in similar roles working on construction projects in New Zealand or Australia.
  • Degree in Law or Engineering is preferred, but not essential.
