Could you be the full-time Graduate – Electrical Engineer based at our Wulkuraka Maintenance Facility?
Purpose of the Position
In this role, you will be reporting to the Engineering Manager and primarily be responsible for providing mechanical or electrical technical support to the New Generation Rollingstock (NGR) fleet. You will also be responsible for;
Key responsibilities:
- Designing of mechanical components using first principles and calculations
- Validation of components and systems by conducting appropriate tests and simulations
- Writing Test specifications to define tests and methods
- Attending Supplier sites for inspection of components and assemblies
- Attending Customer sites to witness first installation of equipment and tests
- Creating overhaul specifications for safety critical components and assembles
- Writing test reports following the requirements of the test specification
- Creating and deliver Presentations on an appropriate technical subject
- Working within a multi-disciplinary team to apply your discipline and report to the lead Engineer for the associated product or system
- Completing approval documentation for the release of components
- Investigating obsolete components and assemblies and recommend alternative solutions
Key Requirements:
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to build strong relationships
- A passion for problem solving and continuous improvement
- A ‘can-do’ attitude and eagerness to learn/develop
- The ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
- A Bachelors degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics or similar
- Experience in heavy industry and/or a maintenance environment preferred but not essential
