Alstom has been awarded the PTA Australia’s $1.6 billion Railcar Program. As part of the project we will design, manufacture and maintain 246 new railcars needed for Metronet projects and the replacement of the A-series trains. We will also deliver 6 DMU (diesel multiple unit) railcars to replace the five diesel railcars that operate the twice daily Australind service between Perth and Bunbury.
Your future role:
Reporting to the Rollingstock Site Quality Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that "Right First Time" delivery for our local project. This includes verifying that manufacturing and testing processes are properly followed. The Site Quality Lead will ensure that the Rolling Stock is built to specification and that manufacturing and test records are produced on time and accurately.
- Manage site quality activities : Budget, People, Process & Performance
- Ensure regular Process FMEA, Adapted Control Plan & Quality Control Plan update to improve Zero Defect objective, especially for Special Processes
- Ensure digitalization of controls & processes using innovations
- Perform analysis at site level to improve Industrial Quality Performance
- Escalade the main anomalies detected on the production lines at site level & ensure their effective treatment using Problem Solving tools
- Support decision for all Hand Overs (GO / NO GO) & NO GO veto right when necessary
- Stop the production if needed for mandatory reason (e.g safety impact needed rework)
- Lead quality animation methodology, aligned with Continuous Improvement system
- Manage and develop the quality team using Quality Academy process and annual training / qualification plan
- Enhance customer satisfaction through periodic meetings, customers surveys, product delivery controls
- Manage and escalate top issues impacting safety and customer satisfaction.
All about you:
- Degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Electrical) or equivalent experience
- Ability to read drawings and specifications, familiar with a variety of test equipment
- Process knowledge on quality at Industrial level
- Proven experience in managing quality tools ( e.g Lean, Six Sigma)
- Demonstrated experience on managing teams
- Knowledge of PFMEA and Control Plans
- Experience with ISO9001 Quality Management System, including line auditing.
