Professional women's network

At Alstom, we understand transport networks and what moves people. From high-speed trains, metros, monorails, and trams, to turnkey systems, services, infrastructure, signalling and digital mobility, we offer our diverse customers the broadest portfolio in the industry. Every day, 80,000 colleagues lead the way to greener and smarter mobility worldwide, connecting cities as we reduce carbon and replace cars.

Your future role

Take on a new challenge and apply your Electronics expertise in a new cutting-edge field in our team in Rouse Hill, NSW. This is a key role within our Maintenance Services team in supporting the maintenance and repairs of the electronic systems and associated equipment for the Railway projects. Day-to-day, you will be primarily responsible for repairing a diverse range of electronic systems from several fleets of trains. We are currently recruiting 2 positions, 1 being a permanent role and the other a 24 month fixed-term contract.

We’ll look to you for:

  • Carrying out routine examinations, fault finding on component level, interrogation, and diagnostic testing on electronic equipment
  • Installing system hardware and software upgrades
  • Actively maintaining and repairing the test bench and equipment available in the workshop
  • Following all established safety procedures, good housekeeping practices and utilize safety equipment as required
  • Reporting daily, weekly on activities, problems found, and measures taken
  • Writing, editing and filling in procedures, reports and check sheets

All about you

We value passion and attitude over experience. That’s why we don’t expect you to have every single skill. Instead, we’ve listed some that we think will help you succeed and grow in this role:

  • The ability to work to tight deadlines and in a high-pressure environment
  • A positive attitude and willingness to learn
  • Sound trouble shooting skills with electronic equipment and systems (PCB board diagnostic)
  • Experience using troubleshooting equipment (Oscilloscope, multimeter, external power supply)
  • Capabilities of designing test procedures / benches will be an advantage
  • Certificate III in Electronics and Communications (or equivalent Australian Qualification)

Things you’ll enjoy

Join us on a life-long transformative journey – the rail industry is here to stay, so you can grow and develop new skills and experiences throughout your career. You’ll also:

  • Play a critical role in supporting the maintenance of our trains
  • Have the opportunity to develop your career in global industry leader
  • Receive 18 weeks paid parental leave
  • Have access to a free corporate gym membership
  • Receive free salary continuity insurance
  • Be eligible for Bridging Leave (extra leave days each year)
  • Have free access to Alstom University (1000’s of courses and learning material)

You don’t need to be a train enthusiast to thrive with us. We guarantee that when you step onto one of our trains with your friends or family, you’ll be proud. If you’re up for the challenge, we’d love to hear from you!
