Your Future Role:

 

We are seeking an accomplished and passionate Environment, Health & Safety professional with a strong commitment to excellence, ready to step into a highly rewarding and impactful role. Reporting to the ANZ EHS & Rail Safety Manager, you will be responsible as the EHS & Rail Safety Manager located in the Melbourne, CBD office for Alstom's DIS (Signalling) projects, where you will play a pivotal role in fostering a safe and thriving workplace.

 

We’ll look to you for:

 

  • Technical writing of EHS procedures and documentation for DIS Projects 
  • Conducting comprehensive EHS risk assessments, ensuring the implementation of effective measures to control and mitigate risks.
  • Overseeing and facilitiating induction programs for new starters within your portfolio.
  • Developing, deploying, and carefully maintaining procedures and tools tailored for our EHS Management System, aligning with legislative requirements and relevant standards.
  • Maintaining accurate records and documentation for DIS projects, demonstrating a strong focus on compliance with safety regulations.
  • Collaborating with the site teams to foster and enhance the EHS culture, using your strategic insights where needed.
  • Preparing and delivering a robust EHS training plans and programs.
  • Facilitating and guiding internal EHS audits, ensuring a comprehensive review of the EHS reporting process.
  • Conduct comprehensive EHS incident investigations and implemetation of robust corrective actions.
  • Technical writing of EHS components for DIS tenders.
  • Management of Workers Compensation return to work for injured employees.

 

About You:

 

  • Qualifications in Workplace, Health and Safety (Diploma, Bachelor’s Degree or similar).
  • Demonstrate a deep understanding of local legal requirements, particularly in the context of Rail Safety.
  • Show initiative, drive, and resilience, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels within the project.
  • Bring previous experience in the rail industry or a similar safety-critical environment, highlighting your adaptability and expertise.
  • Exhibit a solid grasp of safe working systems, rules, and procedures.
  • Demonstrate a strong ability to support and inspire teams, consistently achieving desired outcomes.
  • Ability and willingness to travel nationally from time to time.
