Your future role
We have an exciting opportunity available for an experienced PSD System Engineer to join our team responsible for the delivery of the Suburban Rail Loop East (SRLE) project in Melbourne, Victoria. This transformational project will comprise of approximately 26 km of twin-bored tunnels from Cheltenham to Box Hill, six new underground stations at Cheltenham, Clayton, Monash, Glen Waverley, Burwood and Box Hill and a train stabling and maintenance facility at Heatherton. Based in the Melbourne, you will primarily be responsible for supporting the delivery of the Platform Screen Doors (PSD) System, across the lifecycle of the project. This role would suit an experienced Engineer with an understanding of PSD Systems or similar Control Systems, and a desire to develop in this area.
We’ll look to you to:
- Contribute to PSD Delivery Outcomes: Supporting the engineering team in meeting Quality, Cost and Delivery (QCD) objectives by completing assigned tasks accurately and on time.
- Design and Documentation Management: Validating all documentation from suppliers which include functional specifications, architecture descriptions, detailed designs, interface, testing and commissiong and training documentation. Make timely corrections based on feedback from internal and/or customer reviews. Monitor supplier progress and deliverables.
- Coordination & Interface Management: Acting as the primary technical contact between customer, project stakeholders, and PSD supplier. Coordinate all interfaces between PSD and other subsystems (signalling, power, Rolling Stock, Civil, etc.)
- Integration & Validation Activities: Validating supplier standalone tests and inspections. Coordinate subsystem integration tests between supplier and project team.
- Requirements Management: Ensuring full coverage, traceability, and validation of PSD subsystem requirements.
- Report Engineering Progress: Providing clear updates on task progress, issues, or delays to the Engineering Manager so they maintain visibility of the Work Package status.
- Participate in Monthly Reviews: Attending scheduled project meetings, discuss QCD performances, and contribute by highlighting issues or observations within your scope.
- Assist with Scope Change Activities: Supporting the Engineering Manager in assessing the engineering impact when project scope changes occur and help update related documentation or estimates.
- Contribute to Risk & Savings Discussions: Providing accurate inputs on risks, issues, or potential improvements identified during your work to support team risk reviews and savings initiatives.

- A sound understanding of PSD Systems or similar Control Systems.
- Significant experience in a similar role within transportation projects.
- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant Engineering discipline (Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical Engineering).
- Chartered member of Engineers Australia (preferred).
- The ability to speak Mandarin will be highly regarded.
