At Alstom, we understand transport networks and what moves people. From high-speed trains, metros, monorails, and trams, to turnkey systems, services, infrastructure, signalling and digital mobility, we offer our diverse customers the broadest portfolio in the industry. Every day, 80,000 colleagues lead the way to greener and smarter mobility worldwide, connecting cities as we reduce carbon and replace cars.

Your future role

Take on a new challenge and apply your expertise. You’ll report to the Supply Chain Lead, and work alongside collaborative and dynamic teammates. This is an exciting opportunity for a Material Planner/Rotables Officer to join our team responsible for the maintenance of the C-Series trains, based at our facility in Nowergup.

You'll play a vital role in ensuring the right materials are delivered at the right time, in the right quantities, and place to support Alstom’s projects and operations. Day-to-day, you’ll work closely with teams across the business (such as Warehouse, Operations, Procurement, and Engineering), monitor supplier performance, and drive action plans for improvement.

We’ll look to you for:

  • Material forecasting and planning in line with maintenance requirements.
  • Identify and analyse material trends and consumption.
  • Create Material Planning documents (Call-off, Schedule Agreement, Stock Transport Order, Repair PO, Warranty PO) & respective Source List.
  • Communicate delivery requirements to suppliers and follow up on upcoming deliveries to ensure materials are on track and delivered OTIF.
  • Analyse and manage MRP exception messages and anticipate supply problems (backlogs, shortages, no demand).
  • Resolve Goods Receipt issues with the applied means of communication with suppliers (quantity discrepancies, damages, delivery documents, invoices, etc.).
  • Material master data management - create, change, maintain parameters and ensure data integrity. (safety stock, logistic flows, planned delivery times, ABC classification, lot size).
  • Manage supplier performance KPI's & material coverage according to targets. Collaborate with SDPM to validate worst suppliers and define appropriate action plan.
  • Repair management - create repair/warranty PO for broken parts to internal and external stakeholders and track progress.

All about you

We value passion and attitude over experience. That’s why we don’t expect you to have every single skill. Instead, we’ve listed some that we think will help you succeed and grow in this role:

  • The ability to thrive within a face-paced, dynamic environment and manage competing priorities.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and management skills.
  • Effective problem solving skills with the ability to anticipate issues and implement quick solutions.
  • IT savvy with experience using SAP or similar ERP.
  • Demonstrated experience in a similar role, managing parts/components.
  • A sound understanding of supply chain, warehousing and materials management.

Things you’ll enjoy

Join us on a life-long transformative journey – the rail industry is here to stay, so you can grow and develop new skills and experiences throughout your career. You’ll also benefit from:

  • Contributing to the safe operation of trains for Perth.
  • Free gym membership.
  • Additional leave days.
  • Purchase annual leave and novated leasing schemes.
  • Independent and confidential wellbeing support for you and your family.
  • Our investment in your development, through award-winning learning.
  • A competitive package that recognises your performance and potential.

You don’t need to be a train enthusiast to thrive with us. We guarantee that when you step onto one of our trains with your friends or family, you’ll be proud. If you’re up for the challenge, we’d love to hear from you!
