The Global Security Services (GSS) Operational Excellence team within Amazon Data Center Security is looking for a Sr. Global Program Manager who will provide global solutions to our operational security teams in all regions. The key undertaking for this team has been and will continue to be replacing manual security processes with automated tools. The position will work across the business, globally, and in partnership with the Regional Security Managers (RSM). This role will also collaborate with other AWS Security and Infrastructure Operation teams in developing the solutions and applications to improve data center safety, security, and efficiency.

Key job responsibilities
- Lead the development and deployment of global operational processes for existing or future security operations, and utilize program data to automate and further drive operational efficiency.
- Simultaneously manage multiple projects and tasks while effectively influencing, negotiating, and communicating with internal and external business partners, contractors and vendors.
- Lead continuous improvement efforts to improve Data Center Security programs and processes.
- Implement and document improvements or modifications related to new and existing Data Center Security processes.
A day in the life
A Sr. Global Program Manager on the Global Security Services (GSS) Operational Excellence team spends their day developing and executing strategic programs supporting the physical security mission with partners around the world. Each global manager is responsible for one or more global programs, depending on complexity.
About the team
The Operational Excellence team is part of the larger Global Security Services (GSS) team which is embedded in the Amazon Data Center Security team. This team's role is program, project, and product management aimed to improve safety and security for Amazon data centers. This is a diverse team drawing on program, project, and product management professional experience from multiple cultures and professional backgrounds.BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor degree in Business or Project Management.
- Relevant experience working with large scale global deployments of hardware/software.
- Proficient using business/technical software like MS Excel and MS Project.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- PMP certified or similar.
- Advanced degree in Business, and at least five years of progressively responsible experience in program management.
- Experience in practicing/implementing continuous improvement methodology – LEAN, Six Sigma, ITIL, CMMI
- Highly driven, self-managed individual who demonstrates initiative and proactively seeks solutions to problems.
- Ability to develop short and long-term plans of action, understands problems from a broad perspective and uses conventional and unconventional reasoning to discern underlying principles and issues to create innovative solutions.
