Role description:
Location: No specific location (within Arcadis GBA countries of operation)
Purpose: Together with the support of our key stakeholders, the Skills Powered Delivery Team is tasked with successfully transitioning Arcadis into a Skills Powered Organisation. We will be embedding skill-based talent practices throughout the lifecycle of the employee experience, so we may attract, grow, and connect our talent globally.
Embracing this skills-focused philosophy will be one of the largest, most impactful endeavours we will embark on as an organisation. We will therefore be delivering this in multiple stages (referred to as Horizons) with our people’s experience central to all our decisions.
The purpose of the Global Change Manager role is to co-create and coordinate all change-related initiatives that will drive the transition to a Skills Powered Organisation.

Role accountabilities:
Individual Accountabilities:
- Lead the development and improvement of the Change Strategy together with members of the Delivery Team. Using Arcadis’ change methodology, convert to an executable and measurable plan,
- Working alongside corporate communications, develop and execute the change narrative for the Skills Powered Organisation together with both our internal and external partners.
- Develop templates with the Implementation Partner for use throughout Horizons including Leader-led team sessions, FAQs, and email communications as well as briefing sessions for Leaders, People BPs, Line Managers, employees, and 1:1 conversation guide/s
- Coordinate the Change Impact Assessment together with the Delivery Team and oversee the implementation of key deliverables established in the assessment, including training needs assessments & plans, change readiness assessments, sponsor coaching, and communications planning.
- Develop the communications to drive awareness of all relevant activities together with the communications team, including pilots, launches, milestones, and successes
- Provide a strategic link between the Skills Powered change initiatives and the organizational-wide change and communications activities, ensuring a harmonized approach is always taken
- Work closely as part of the wider Global Change COE to ensure alignment and maximize the impact of all change initiatives.
- Create and manage the activities that make up the Change Action Plan to engage and excite everyone impacted about the upcoming change
- Capture and communicate employee stories that showcase the benefits of change along the employee lifecycle
- Develop and monitor change adoption metrics, providing relevant insights to the Delivery Team as and when appropriate
- Develop and manage feedback mechanisms to engage stakeholders along the change journey to guide future planning assumptions and increase the overall impact
- Develop guidance for identifying Change Champions to support the transition to change and actively recruit these Champions to support program activities. Work with Change COE to look at applicability to existing change networks
- Document and communicate lessons learnt, ensuring effective knowledge share to continually enhance future initiatives.
- Partner with Global Business Areas, Global Communications, People Transformation Impact Director, and People Business Partners to ensure communications are in tune with the business requirements
Key Shared Accountabilities:
- Become an expert on the Skills Powered Organisation philosophy and contribute to the ongoing dialogue about research and new innovations in this space
- Work closely with the Delivery Team to successfully transition Arcadis into a Skills Powered Organisation
- Managing overall change load, lessons learned, and continuous improvement across the Change COE/ Arcadis’ transformation through collaboration with other members of the change centre of excellence and the Strategic Delivery Office.
- Play an active part in the continuous improvement of Arcadis’ Change COE and in the management of change networks
Qualifications & Experience:
Our ideal candidate will be naturally collaborative, curious, agile, and able to work independently and in conjunction with the wider team. They will have personal experience in managing change in large multinational organizations on a global scale using an established change methodology. The candidate will demonstrate passion, knowledge, and experience in shaping and creating a Skills Powered Organisation enabled by ethical AI technology. They will role model and demonstrate a commitment to a continuous learning culture through ongoing personal development. They will be confidently balancing a range of competing and conflicting work.
They will have excellent English communications skills and experience in advising and liaising with senior business executives and key internal stakeholders.
This is a global role so the candidate will require some degree of flexibility to meet with key stakeholders.
Managing change: Managing change e.g. divestments or mergers/acquisitions, growing a start-up, or leading change into other markets/services or products, operating with new business models, turning around underperforming businesses, programs, or teams, and driving standardization and automation at scale.
Leading transformation: Ability to bring people on a journey to the unknown, creating a sense of stability and security in uncertain times, avoiding change fatigue.
Breadth of experience: Working internationally, across different industries and business lines and/or functions, managing projects impacting people/issues/solutions across organizational boundaries. Experienced in moving to a culture that gets the best from new ways of working and in navigating the dynamics of organisational constituencies.
