About you:
A keen sense of maintaining high standards, and an excellent communicator with a strong understanding of client needs. Minimum 5 years experience specifically related to the existing building façade diagnostics, and a strong passion for the built environment. You will also have:

Experience in asset renewal, and rope access skills highly regarded;

Degree in structural engineering, materials science, architecture or similar, or extensive industry experience;

IRATA Level 3 Qualified Rope Access Technician;

Existing experience in building diagnostic and remedial works;

Developing further specialist knowledge in areas such as: materials including glass, stone, metals, concrete, masonry, terracotta; facade refurbishment of existing buildings; Holistic design coordinating with other related building design disciplines;

Working towards Chartership with the Institute of Engineers (Australia), or chartership with equivalent associations in other countries or professional accreditation/registration equivalent in qualified professional area;

Software skills – Word, Excel, AutoCAD and Sketchup. Skills in softwares such as Rhino or Revit highly regarded;

Working knowledge of Australian Codes and Standards and legislative requirements.

Arup’s diagnostic business is highly successful and profitable and focused on servicing a group of key clients who own significant building portfolios. Our clients appreciate our quality advice and global expertise. As we enthusiastically expand this are, we are seeking a Façade Diagnostics Consultant to join our team to assist in winning work and leading projects across diagnostics and asset renewal.
Key Tasks:

In this role, you will Undertake inspections (by ropes, BMU or other means) of existing buildings and prepare reports recording condition and proposed repair and maintenance works.

Utilise digital tools for recording inspections and documenting inspection findings;

Lead the technical / design input on such projects, ensuring work quality is maintained at the expected standard. Prepare technical specifications for repairs;

Manage post tender including preparation and delivery of detailed tender submissions and presentations;

Manage the time, quality and performance of their projects including project budgets.

Under supervision, extend relationships with existing key clients to enable an expansion of business opportunities for the team;

Prepare project reports for clients summarising key issues and strategically advising on best outcomes;

Assist in the ongoing development and maintenance of quality systems within the office;
-
Develop and maintain strong communication links with the other building specialist disciplines in related areas.
