EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST FOR TRAINEE DRIVER
Our Bluff/Blackwater Depot is offering enthusiastic safety orientated people the opportunity to change careers and join the rail industry as a locomotive driver. To excel in this position you will relish to opportunity to learn new skills and put into practice what you are taught in the classroom to become a professional train operator.
About the role:
- Undertake Locomotive driver training and successfully complete modules within the specified timeframe
- Perform duties as required according to skill, competence and training
- Gain a working knowledge of train operations including the principles of safeworking:
- Apply theoretical knowledge from training to practical operation in an operational environment
- These position are not offered on a FIFO/DIDO basis however accommodation subsidy will be provided.
About You:
- Ability to work shift work (24/7) rotating over 365 days a year including nights, weekends and public holidays.
- Ability to undertake intensive training at an alternative location for approximately 10 weeks.
- Willingness and ability to undertake classroom and on-track competencies to operate locomotives
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to concentrate on repetitive tasks
- Open drivers licence
Please note our recruitment timeframes are extremely tight and you will be required to attend testing, medical and an interview/assessment centre within the next 2-3 weeks if successful in moving through the process with a view to commencing mid- late March.
