Supervisor Mechanised Production

About the role: An opportunity has arisen for a Maintenance Supervisor role within our Mechanised Production Section. Reporting to our Ballast Cleaning Production Operations Superintendent you will lead the day-to-day operations and/or maintenance of the track infrastructure covering both maintenance and project, including the allocation and deployment of resources and the coordinating of civil infrastructure services to deliver safe, cost effective and timely track maintenance.
Responsibilities:
- Review work practices, positions, processes and machine performance including the introduction of new technologies and systems where appropriate to improve productivity and safety in accordance with ZeroHarm.
- Lead and effectively manage all resources safely to meet work priorities, customer and business requirements.
- Manage the development, implementation and monitoring of the requirements of the Network Integrated Management System Business and Divisional Instructions effectively to control and minimise loss to people, property, processes and environment within their section of Infrastructure Services.
- Coordinate and negotiate with other Divisions, Sections and Units of Network or Aurizon Operations. To provide effective and efficient management of daily, weekly and monthly work programs concerning Mechanised Production and proactively work to develop and maintain harmonious working relationships through regular engagement and communication.
- Coordinate, implement and monitor programs and training for all work group staff to ensure high performance levels through succession planning, staff appraisals, development and training to meet customer and business needs and the development of a high performing multi- skilled workforce.
- Liaise with peers and Planners on programming and scheduling of preventative maintenance strategies to ensure machine maintenance is being carried out efficiently and effectively.
- Provide advice and recommendations to leaders on solutions and outcomes.
About you:
- Cert IV Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (preferred)
- High level of skill in major mechanised maintenance and track construction activities, systems and processes including managing the day-to-day operations and/or maintenance and repair of plant and personnel associated with high production track maintenance plant.
- Extensive knowledge of Aurizon's Safety and Environmental Management Systems including principles associated with loss control.
- Substantial leadership, people management, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Sound skill in the use of computer systems including SAP, spreadsheets, Gantt charts and databases for asset management, time management and finance reporting.
- Sound conceptual, analytical and problem-solving skills.
