About the role
Australia’s energy system is transforming and AEMO is at the centre of it. Reporting to a Senior Change Manager with a dotted line to the relevant Project Manager - as a Change Manager, you’ll deliver end‑to‑end change across at least 1–2 key projects, supporting stakeholder engagement, go‑live readiness, and seamless transition into business operations.
This is a hands-on 12-month fixed term contract in either Melbourne or Sydney with an opportunity to make a real impact on nationally significant programs.
What you will be doing
- Deliver end‑to‑end change activities using AEMO’s Enterprise Change Framework, driving practical, high‑quality best practice outcomes that embed successfully into the business.
- Partner with senior stakeholders (Change, Program and Project Managers) to design and deliver effective change strategies, plans, key artefacts, activities and outcomes
- Lead stakeholder communications, engagement, and learning/training activities to drive adoption and readiness across complex, technical environments.
- Work closely with Program/Project Managers to proactively identify and manage risks, issues, and dependencies impacting successful delivery.
- Collaborate across AEMO’s enablement functions and the Enterprise Change Practice to deliver consistent, aligned and high‑impact change experiences.
What you will bring to the role
- Extensive experience delivering end‑to‑end change management across complex initiatives including technology and operating model initiatives.
- Hands on expertise in designing and delivering impact assessments, strategies/plans, communications, training/learning, and business readiness.
- Ideally with workplace experience in the application of common Change Management methodologies (e.g. Kubler-Ross, Bridges Transition Model, Human Centred Design etc.)
- Strong capability across communications, engagement, and learning design and delivery to drive adoption in technical environments.
- Solid understanding of project delivery methodologies (Waterfall, Agile, Lean) and ability to operate effectively within them.
- Relevant qualifications, accreditations and/or certifications in change management or related disciplines (e.g. Change Management Institute, APMG, PROSCI).
- Demonstrated ability to co‑design solutions, influence stakeholders, and coach leaders to embed change effectively.
- Applicants must be an Australian citizen with the ability to attain and maintain an appropriate level of national security clearance issued by AGSVA.
