About the role

AEMO’s Customer and Digital Services (CDS) engages stakeholders and customers providing management, governance, and assurance across operational Digital services. CDS provides service designs, service transition; service operations, customer services; communications and engagement; risk, audit, and compliance; service lifecycle and continuity; and continuous improvement across the Program Workstreams and Projects.

You will work with program delivery leads and colleagues across Digital to ensure that IT assets, including hardware, software, virtual machines and cloud services, are accurately tracked and managed in the Configuration Management Database (CMDB) throughout their lifecycle. The role supports the integrity, completeness and currency of CMDB records by maintaining accurate configuration item (CI) data, relationships, ownership and lifecycle status, enabling improved service visibility, impact assessment, operational decision-making, audit readiness and effective management of change across the technology environment.

This is a 14-month fixed term contract that can be based in multiple locations.

Please note that to be eligible for this role you require Australian citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a national security clearance.

What you will be doing

  • Assist in embedding and monitoring operational processes for secure and reliable configuration, classification and management of configuration items (CIs) and for verifying and auditing configuration records.
  • Develop, configure and maintain required tools (including automation, discovery and service mapping) to identify, track, log and maintain accurate, complete, compliant and current information.
  • Reports on the status of asset and configuration management required deliverables. Identify problems and issues and recommend corrective actions
  • Assist and support the planning, capturing and management of CIs and related information.
  • Work collaboratively to implement solutions seeking inputs as required to ensure desired outcomes are achieved, coaching others in their role and responsibilities as CI owners.

What you will bring to the role

  • Thorough knowledge of integration of ITIL processes especially Incident, Problem, Change, Request, Service Design, Service Transition and Service Asset and Configuration Management.
  • Technical certification in Asset and Configuration Management preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of ServiceNow, and demonstrable career history developing, implementing, and maintaining asset registers and CMDB on this platform.
  • Thorough knowledge of automated discovery and dynamic service mapping.
  • Previous experience in the areas of reporting and analysis across the Asset and Configuration Management processes.
