About the Team & the Position
AEMO is embarking on a technology uplift program, designed to modernise systems, enhance operational efficiency, and shape the future of the energy landscape. This large-scale transformation is an exciting opportunity to join a high-profile initiative and contribute to its success from the ground up.
The purpose of the Quality Assurance role is to ensure quality management of Program deliverables and outcomes. The role is responsible for maintaining the Program Quality Control and Continuous Improvement Framework (Quality Assurance Plan). The Quality Assurance Analyst will conduct regular Quality Assurance Assessments in line with Program deliverables to ensure they meet agreed outcomes and objectives.
Position Responsibilities
Work with the PMO Managers and Workstream leads in reviewing and assurance quality outcomes for the critical project that align to AEMO and industry standards and agreed Program outcomes in line with the Commonwealth Grant Agreement. This will involve:
- Maintaining the Program Quality Control and Continuous Improvement Framework.
- Conducting Quality Planning activities such as workshops with Project Leads to ensure alignment with Program objectives.
- Support Project Gating activities, including readiness review and compliance checks.
- Facilitate Lessons Learnt sessions and maintain Lessons Learnt Register.
- Support the Deliverables Management Process and Reporting, as well as performing quality checks on document storage and control process adherence.
- Develop monthly quality and performance reporting to report on quality findings, leveraging the quality dashboard and providing commentary on progress and trends.
- Generating insights from quality assessment reviews and providing actionable recommendations to senior leaders.
- This role will become the Process expert for all project deliverables and will run sessions with the Leadership and Extended leadership, ensuring we have a shared vision and understanding of the Quality Assurance Framework and objectives.
Position Requirements
Skills & Experience:
- Proven experience in a Quality Assurance role. - Experience in Australian Energy / Utility industry (preferred)
- Experience in project or program quality assurance including quality reviews, compliance, and readiness assessments across complex programs
- Strong understanding of governance and associated management frameworks
- High proficiency with Microsoft tools and records management systems.
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, able to guide team towards planned quality outcomes
- Ability to build trusted relationships with the project managers, PMO, and governance bodies
- High attention to detail, demonstrate critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Strong risk awareness, able to identify emerging issues and escalate appropriately.
Must be an Australian citizen with the ability to attain and maintain an appropriate level of national security clearance.
Education/ professional Certifications:
- Tertiary and/or post graduate qualifications in Business Administration, or related field.
- Professional certifications in Project Management preferred.
