Having made the decision to internalise a significant proportion of our investment activity, we have carefully established a team of talented and highly capable funds management professionals, united in their purpose to improve retirement outcomes for AustralianSuper members.
The Investment group's key activities include Asset Allocation & Research, and Total Portfolio Management, as well as asset classes that include Fixed Income & Currency, Capital Markets, Equities and Mid Risk Portfolios. Mid Risk Portfolios comprises our unlisted infrastructure, real estate and credit asset class teams overlaid with portfolio strategy, research and risk specialists at the portfolio group level.
The Infrastructure Portfolio Strategy involves the ongoing pursuit and management of direct infrastructure investments within targeted subsectors across global developed markets, along with development of potential investment strategies through SMAs with managers, platforms and targeted emerging markets investments.

You will join a growing team of Unlisted Investment professionals.
Your new role
As an Investment Analyst within the Infrastructure Team, you will develop broad-based analytical skills and expand your commercial acumen to identify and analyse key investment issues, and with guidance from other team members, make recommendations to senior colleagues.
You will work collaboratively to produce excellent financial modelling outcomes for the portfolio, providing analytical support to the key functions of asset management, transaction execution and portfolio management. You will work with senior colleagues to produce high quality reporting and research, pertinent to the strategic priorities of the portfolio.
Some of your responsibilities are:
- Assist in the execution of new infrastructure investment opportunities that align with the Infrastructure Portfolio Strategy.
- Assist senior Infrastructure Team members in investment management of assets within the Infrastructure Portfolio.
- Assist in the effective execution of the Infrastructure Portfolio Strategy.
What you'll need
- Previous experience in transactions and/or asset management in an investment advisory or investment management role.
- Knowledge of valuation principles and practices, ideally for unlisted infrastructure assets
- Developing ability to accurately identify key investment issues and effectively communicate them within the team
- Strategic and creative thinking skills.
- Excellent report writing skills.
- Strong quantitative financial modelling skills.
- Use of MS Office products especially Excel.
- Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with senior management, team members and other internal/external colleagues
- Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and able to multitask effectively
