Your new role
This newly created role is responsible for the provision of secretariat services for Board and Executive Level Committees and providing pro-active advice and support on secretariat matters across the Fund. You will be seen as a "Trusted Advisor" and tasked with the preparation of papers, minutes, matters arising and agendas for Board Committees to ensure all key activities are completed during the year and that each Committee complies with its Terms of Reference.
Your key responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Prepare papers, minutes and matters arising reports for Board and Executive Committees.
- Assist with the preparation of work programs for Board and Executive Committees to ensure all key activities are completed during the year.
- Provide proactive advice and support on secretariat issues and related policies, including advice on the appropriate forum for consideration of matters.
- Oversee the preparation of Committee agendas to ensure that items listed in workplans and matters arising are addressed.
- Review Committee papers, including ensuring compliance with Terms of Reference.
- Oversee progress and completion of matters arising for Board and Executive Committees.
- Assist with the appointment of Directors and Committee members and the maintenance of company registers and filings.
- Assist with planning training and development opportunities for Directors and Committee members.
What you'll need
- Bachelor's degree (Law preferred)
- Formal training in Corporate Law and/or Governance is highly desired.
- Ideally have previous experience in supporting a board within a company secretariat/governance function or within a professional services firm.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to present ideas, perspectives and issues to Board Committees, executives and senior management.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to coordinate tasks and set priorities.
- Experience in financial services and knowledge of the superannuation industry is advantageous.
