Your new role
Reporting to the Head of Intermediary Member Growth the National Manager, Business Development is responsible for the development and conversion of a pipeline of intermediary partners, including Business and Adviser channels to expand the Fund's footprint. You will determine the optimal approach to lead generation, nurturing and conversion to maximise new sales and oversee the sales pipeline to ensure sufficient volume at each stage and across each team member.

Some key tasks but not limited to;

  • Devise a targeting strategy that builds an opportunity pipeline to capitalise on immediate expansion opportunities while also responding to future growth or declining industries.
  • Be abreast of macroeconomic factors that may impact intermediary distribution opportunities.
  • Continuously uplift and enhance the capability of the business development team to ensure sales skills and techniques are relevant to the audience, current and effective.
  • Ensure the growth delivered by the team is sustainable, within cost to acquire caps, and is growing a membership base that aligns with the forecasted profile as defined in the Fund strategy.
  • Work with the Partnerships and Business Enablement teams to maximise the member growth within the first 90 days of transition.
  • Build and maintain relationships with external providers to achieve the best outcomes for members in a cost-effective way that aligns to the core member offer proposition.
  • Identify opportunities for collaboration across Groups to co-create solutions to achieve strategic goals, and nurture and maintain internal relationships across all levels of the Fund.


What you'll need

  • Demonstrated ability to lead diverse and dispersed teams to deliver on a strategy
  • Ability to translate market share or industry/geographical growth opportunities into a meaningful sales pipeline.
  • Ability to translate member preferences, regulatory requirements and the Fund's strategic ambitions to workable and measurable solutions.
  • Ability to negotiate and finalise outcomes with a range of stakeholders, both internal and external, to co-create outcomes.
  • Business hygiene including the ability to manage a team budget, workforce planning and cost-efficiency.
  • Hold or be willing to complete a RG146 qualification.


Desirable:

  • Industry knowledge: - Understanding of the Superannuation landscape, including knowledge of competitor funds
  • Understanding of the Australian Financial Advice ecosystem, including distribution channels, adviser preferences and value drivers
  • Broad working knowledge of the Australian industrial relations landscape including the role of unions and business associations
