Your new role
This 12 Month Contract for a Senior Associate will partner with Fund Services to enable the operation and management of their risk and incident, obligations profile in line with the Fund's Risk Management Framework. In this highly visible role, the successful candidate will be a natural relationship builder who is influential and has the ability to provide practical and tailored risk management solutions to Fund Services business unit.
This role is ideal for someone with an external audit background.
Some key responsibilities but not limited to;
- Partner with the designated business units to provide an end to end risk and control service to enable them to manage their risk profile.
- Keep Management aware of the risk and control environment of the Business through continuous and timely reporting.
- Represent the Operational Risk & Controls team on projects that impact the designated Business unit to assess the impact of the process change.
- Ensure specific risk areas are appropriately reviewed, managed, monitored and integrated with the overall delivery of the risk framework and recorded within the GRC system. This will include incident reporting, control identification, a control self-assessment program, monitoring of findings and actions and model management.
- Monitor the Group's risk appetite assessment and key risk indicator program and reporting.
- Ensure specific risk areas (i.e. incident management and remediation of findings) are appropriately integrated with the overall delivery of the risk framework.
- Demonstrates clear, comprehensive communication of key operational risk matters to relevant parties and Management (including risk oversight governance groups).
- Develop appropriate risk reporting/dashboards for senior management, advisory groups, group risk and Board committees.
What you'll need
- 7+ years of experience in operations, risk, compliance frameworks as well as incident management practices.
- Ability to translate complex and technical information into relatable terms and concepts.
- An ability to analyse trends (risks, controls, incidents etc), diagnose problems and issues and then recommend actions dealing with underlying root causes.
- Excellent oral, written communication, data presentation skills.
- Ability to influence and develop and maintain high quality interpersonal relationships with stakeholders at all levels, both within and outside the Fund.
- Experience in a Financial Services/Superannuation environment, Risk and Compliance.
