Your new role
As the Senior Risk Analyst you will be supporting the Senior Manager to provide Line 2 advice, oversight, and challenge on Risk Management practices across AustralianSuper's Fund Services business group. You will work closely with First Line Risk colleagues to assist them to identify, assess and manage risks, within the context of the AustralianSuper Risk Management Framework and Risk Appetite Statement.
Key duties include but are not limited to:
- Gather insights and thermatics to support the Senior manager to act as a trusted advisor and business partner to the Fund Services business group, on all risk matters.
- Assessment of data on the risk system, extracting insights and reporting to support the Senior Manager to oversight, advice and challenge the First Line in their effective management of risk, obligations, controls, and associated risk practice.
- Provide insights, analysis, with respect of the Fund Services risk profile, based on a thorough technical understanding of Risk Management, together with knowledge of the business.
- Support Senior Manager to provide risk insights concerning Fund-wide exposures, emerging issues, and industry trends.
- Partner with the Senior Manager on the oversight of Fund Services operational risk, compliance, and regulatory change activities across First Line.
- Support the Senior Manager with collating insights and recommendations from Line 2 monitoring and oversight activities to support reporting, plus advice and challenge of business decision making.
- Engagement with Internal Audit to understand the 3rd Line program as it relates to the Fund Services business group; and supporting the Senior Manager to ensure Line 1 Risk has adequate coverage of key risk areas and effective and timely rectification.
- Collaborate with other members of the Group Risk team to deliver accurate and insightful risk reporting.
What you'll need
- Tertiary qualifications in Business, Commerce, law or Industry related field.
- Solid risk management and assurance experience (4+ years), gained in Financial Services or consulting.
- Good communication skills and ability to engage and influence.
- Ability to write with effect, particularly in relation to creating reports and updating risk framework documents.
- Sound understanding of control design and operating effectiveness.
- Demonstrated attention to detail, analytical and investigative skills.
- Good planning, consulting, influencing and negotiation skills.
