We support the Royal Navy and our international clients in the design and manufacture of naval ships and submarines, including their state-of-the-art combat systems and equipment.

PMO Analyst
Would you like the opportunity to join a new team to help shape how the portfolio works, developing processes and templates within our Digital Service Team for Maritime Services? We currently have a vacancy for a PMO Analyst to be based at our site in Portsmouth.
The role of the PMO Analyst is to support and guide the Project Team, playing an integral role in helping to shape the PMO function and services by managing the performance of a large programme of work, including: tracking project milestones, supporting the adoption of project lifecycles, risk and issue management, facilitating lesson learnt reviews, maintaining the information management repository, support portfolio level reporting and reviews.
Additional responsibilities include contributing to Quality and Audit reviews and at times providing PMO support to projects where necessary.
This role will provide you with opportunities to advance in further in PMO or provide you with the knowledge and expertise if you aspire to become a Project Manager. As you will be working alongside seasoned project managers on exciting projects and gain exposure to different parts of the business.
Your main responsibilities as a PMO Analyst will involve:
- Assisting in the development and implementation of the PMO function services, tools, standards and processes across the portfolio.
- Supporting and contributing to portfolio level reporting, analysis and facilitating portfolio reviews.
- Managing the risk management tool, maintaining the portfolio level risk register and monitor the performance of project risk registers through monthly reviews. Providing risk management guidance to project managers as required.
- Providing pre-project mobilisation services, through the implementation of key project controls for new projects.
- Supporting the LFE Champion in managing the lessons learnt repository, portfolio level lessons and review/analyse of new project lessons.
- Maintaining the project templates repository, by ensuring: all links are active, templates are up to date and new templates have been created and or added based on best practice.
- Liaising with other PMOs and Project Controllers across Maritime Services to share best practices.
Your skills and qualifications:
Essential
- PMO experience demonstrated in a professional role within a significant business or project.
- Good understanding and knowledge of one of more Project Management tools, techniques and practices.
- Experience of building relationships and negotiating outcomes with internal stakeholders.
- Risk Management experience demonstrated through managing risks at a portfolio or programme level.
Desirable
- Experience maintaining SharePoint sites, including the setup of libraries, and access.
- Relevant PMO/Project Management Qualification such as P30, APM, Prince2 or practical experience gained through application of PMO
- Experienced in Project Management Lifecycles
What we are looking for in you:
You should have good communication skills, both written and verbal with Strong problem-solving skills, based on previous experience and knowledge.
You should also have the ability to prioritise you own workload as you could be working individually or part of a team. Having good diplomacy skills to work across boundaries within the project to achieve optimum solutions would be advantageous, as you will need to be able to provide ideas, solutions, and best practices from previous experience. You should be open to a changing and fast paced environment.
