About the Role
An exciting 12 month fixed term opportunity has arisen within our new line 2 Business Bank Compliance team as Partner/Senior Partner – Business Bank Compliance, closely aligning with our Business Bank division. Our Business Bank is growing and provides an interesting range of products and services that you won’t find in a pure retail bank compliance role, such as commercial lending, financial markets, asset financing and specialist solutions designed for niche professional services.
This parental leave cover will give you an opportunity to play an important role in the broader transformational uplift of our compliance culture, capability and maturity by helping to embed compliance initiatives such as frameworks, policies and processes in the Business Bank - very exciting and very rewarding!
Responsible for providing independent reviews and partnering with the business to provide sound compliance advice, you will be a key go-to for all initiatives, issues and incidents within the Business Bank, ensuring they comply with financial services obligations, and that any conduct risks are properly managed. T
his role will require an experienced, inquisitive individual who is dedicated to building strong relationships, with the ability to deep-dive and really understand business division’s products and services and to offer first class compliance advice. With your sound knowledge of risk and control methodologies, along with exposure to control design, testing and effectiveness you’ll be able to appropriately balance compliance risk and the needs of our customers.
Reporting to the Head of Business Bank Compliance, you will be joining a super-collaborative and passionate team, who work hard, and love to have fun along the way!
About you
Degree qualified in Business, Commerce, Law, Economics, or a similar discipline, you will come armed with strong time management skills, a curious eye to find solutions and the ability to meet tight, often changing, internal and regulatory deadlines.
You understand the importance of working within a highly regulated industry – bringing strong, detailed knowledge and understanding of financial services obligations including the National Consumer Credit Protection Act, ASIC Act, Corporations Act, ASIC Regulatory Guides and Privacy Act.
With three to five years' experience working in a similar role in Australian banking industry (preferably business banking), your understanding of banking products and services will enable you to pinpoint areas requiring further analysis and attention, ensuring a pragmatic and robust approach to compliance. Your continuous improvement mindset will help deliver ongoing uplift in Business Bank compliance.
