Within our Corporate and Public Affairs function we have a team in place responsible for implementing our ESG and Sustainability Business Plan. A key strategic initiative for this team is to strengthen the bank’s performance in the environmental, social and governance (ESG) and sustainability space.
About the role
We currently have an exciting permanent opportunity for someone to join the team as an ESG & Sustainability Analyst. Reporting into the Head of ESG & Sustainability, you will play an integral role in assisting the team to implement the bank’s ESG and Sustainability Business Plan as well as benchmarking our performance in this space.
A key focus of the role is the management, governance, and coordinating the assurance of ESG data, so you will be required to research, analyse, compile, benchmark, and present sustainability data and information. You’ll oversee pre-assurance on selected ESG metrics and will deliver key sustainability reporting outputs to meet regulatory requirements.
Bring your skills and experience in the ESG field with data management and data governance to a coveted position where the work you do will be actively making a difference on some of the most pressing and topical business and societal issues – sustainability, climate change, human rights and modern slavery. You’ll need to have a genuine interest and passion in ESG and sustainability!
Importantly you are a self-starter who is comfortable and familiar with data and data governance that picks up new ways of working and thinking quickly.

This role can be based in any of our main office locations in a hybrid model where some days you’ll be based in the office and other days working from home.
To be successful in the role, you'll have:
- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field - Sustainability, Economics, Commerce, Law, Public Policy, Public Relations, or Communications
- Experience and skills in an ESG and/or sustainability role including data management or assurance
- Familiarity working with multiple data sources, refining data, sourcing insights from data, and presenting to different stakeholder groups
- The ability to engage with stakeholders from across the enterprise
- A high level of attention to detail
- The ability to work independently
- Intellectual curiosity
- The ability to work on multiple projects or tasks at the same time
- Fully proficiency in MS Office365 products, particularly Excel
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
