About the division
The Engagement Practice is responsible for Bendigo Bank’s strategic go-to-market channels of engagement, building new experiences that delight, protect, and support our customers and staff. The Practice is responsible for providing the best banking experience across our brands. Ultimately the Practice will continue to understand, design and build the things that matter most to our customers and staff.
About the role
We love our staff, and we love to give them experiences that reflect our deep understanding of their needs and our commitment to their workplace experience. We listen, and we care, and we respond. As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be focussed primarily on building and maintaining experiences in many staff applications.
Working in Consumer Staff Engagement team, you are someone who is passionate about empowering engineers to own and support the code they write. You’ve been around and seen some stuff, so you have opinions on what good looks like, and what mistakes are best avoided.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is both looking to flex their tech muscles as well as develop their leadership skills in a fast paced, high-octane environment.
In this role, you’ll get to:
- Use your technical leadership on how our application should grow and remain relevant
- Participate in Engineering Community Events including Meetups
- Collaborate to manage cross-Practice and Service dependencies for successful business outcomes
- Apply effective management of Vendor and partner relationships
About you
You will have strong practical skills in Node.js and C++/C# would be great, to be able to build and maintain our modern and older applications, as we continue to modernise and simplify.
To be successful in the role you will have:
- Aptitude and experience with educating engineers so that they have the confidence to build out our apps
- Confidence in communication with the team, and ability to connect in with other engineers in the broader division
- Ability to think strategically and effectively communicate how we can modernise and uplift
- Proven project delivery experience with the ability to drive change in a high-tech development environment
- Demonstrated ability to successfully deliver parallel and / or complex initiatives
- Experience with staff banking applications would be highly desirable
