About the team and role
Group Finance provides the core financial information and models to support performance measurement, target setting and understanding drivers of financial outcomes.
Known internally as Senior Analyst – Business Financial Performance you’ll be responsible for supporting business teams with understanding the commercial drivers of financial performance, measuring performance vs. Target/Forecast and prior year performance. This position will primarily be engaging with the Technology Division but through our agnostic model will also be working with other Divisions and colleagues supporting an Enterprise wide approach.
You’ll join an experienced team and bring both demonstrated experience and qualifications to partner with the business to help drive outcomes through insightful analysis and commercial acumen.
We support flexible working arrangement and are open to various locations of Melbourne, Adelaide, Bendigo and Sydney.
Experience, capabilities and qualifications
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the Technology sector or dedicated Technology portfolio
- Strong knowledge of management accounting methodologies
- Understanding of principles of return on equity and levers of driving Cost to Income
- Effective business partnering and relationship skills, with a demonstrated ability to elicit cooperation from a wide variety of stakeholders
- High level of computer, analytical, numerical and reporting skills utilising Excel and Power BI will be advantageous
- Detailed understanding of management reporting including business unit profitability
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting / Finance or related
- Commenced (or part completed) accounting qualifications (CA/CPA/CFA or equivalent) with a minimum of 4 years relevant experience in comparable environment
Understanding of practices including:
- Retail and Wholesale Banking concepts and business models
- Financial Control processes, systems and key controls
- Budgeting and forecasting processes
- Management Accounting & Reporting
