In Lending Assessment Support , we support all of our Business Banking Customer needs through a centralised dedicated operational and fulfillment model that delivers on exceptional banker and customer experience. The team is responsible for leading implementation of consistent and disciplined processes and clear accountability of the Business Banking Customer operating model including marketing activation, business reporting, activity-based performance reporting, operational excellence and in-business project implementation across the business designed to create an optimal Lending Assessment Support structure to support Business Customer achieve its goals and objectives. The Financial Spreading Team is a key part of the Lending Assessment structure.
About the role
The Financial Spreading Analyst is responsible for ensuring that the team deliver an appropriate service level to the Business Customer bankers and their customers. This is predominately financial spreading and covenant loading through the Bank’s Optimist system to ensure sound risk management. The team is required to assist with data entry, quality assurance and administration. Specifically, the Financial Spreading Analyst is responsible for operating within a team that supports Business Banking and Credit Risk Managers across all Business Banking commercial lending segments to accurately complete the financial extraction to the Optimist financial system. Typically, this will include
- Spreading the financial statements in an accurate and timely manner with 98% accuracy KPI.
- Receiving telephone and email requests from a network of Optimist users.
- Aggregation / consolidation of entities financials to reflect borrowing groups.
- Compliance with the Bank’s Financial Spreading Guide and Policy.
- Making adjustment to Financial Accounts in accordance with the Bank’s Financial Spreading Guide and Policy.
- Accurate loading of covenants in optimist
- Accurate loading of data in Comm Laps
- Supporting other Teams within Lending Assessment Support
- Demonstrated ability to accurately analyse, document and interpret financial data and reports
We are open to considering candidates from across the country, however the team is currently in Adelaide. There will be 2 office days per week, at your closest office.
About you
To succeed in this role, you will need to have a solid working understanding of loan structuring, conditioning and covenant principles for commercial lending. Some of the key attributes and capabilities we are looking for include;
- Strong attention to details and accuracy
- Consistent stakeholder communication
- Demonstrated understanding of the Financial Spreading Process and Policy.
- Strong analytical capability and demonstrated ability to interpret financial statements
- The ability to adhere to tight time frames
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Business banking and/or accounting background is highly beneficial in this role. You will need to demonstrate strong capabilities in analysing financial documents relating to business lending and transactions.
