About the role
Based at any of our head office locations, this permanent, full time, Pricing Data Scientist role reports to the Senior Manager Pricing and Analysis , within BEN’s Products and Analysis team. Responsibilities include undertaking advanced analytics and data science services to support the Pricing Team. This will include developing and implementing best practice predictive models, product feature impact analysis, exploring the use of new or existing data assets and providing expert support within the wider Pricing and Product Performance Team. The Pricing Data Scientist will need to provide advice and reporting on the impact of key Pricing decisions and operational activities on the portfolio.
You will process and analyse large datasets and establish hypotheses for solving high-value business problems. Furthermore, you will frame data within relevant business context to develop repeatable models and glean actionable insights. You will also be required to test hypotheses by combining data observations and developing innovative mathematical and statistical pricing models. The involved testing will include: prototyping, analysing and validating the implementation of the models using statistical and optimization software tools.
You will be required to formulate mathematical or simulation models of problems, relating constants and variables, restrictions, alternatives, conflicting objectives, and their numerical parameters.
About you
To be successful in this role you will:
- Ability to adapt analytical insight to effectively communicate findings appropriate for the audience.
- Outcome driven, with a persistent focus on leveraging technology to drive customer and business value.
- Creative problem solver.
- Leverage relationships to influence without authority.
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a role focused on Data Science.
- Demonstrated experience with analytics programming languages such as SAS, R & Python
- Database query experience such as SQL Server, Oracle and NoSQL.
- Experience with visualisation tools such as PowerBI.
- Experience with Machine Learning software (desirable). E.g. SparkML, TensorFlow.
- Experience with any of Azure, AWS or Google Cloud (desirable)
