About the division and team

We have a clear strategy and important work in place to become Australia's bank of choice.

The Business and Agribusiness division brings together our specialist Rural and Business lending capability.

Within this Division, our Business Customer operating model has been reshaped and our Property Lending team is now a key vertical within the division where growth opportunities are waiting to be realized.

About the role

As a Senior Property Relationship Manager, you will manage and develop a growth portfolio of commercial property connections and focus on winning new-to-bank customers.

You’ll play a critical role in driving growth and sourcing new clients through your own and bank-developed marketing initiatives and by maintaining a quality referral network. With the support of a team of Senior Relationship Associates you’ll ensure our existing customers’ needs are met and give them a great experience.

  • You will manage and grow a portfolio of profitable commercial property customers.
  • Conduct needs analysis to identify opportunities for deepening customer relationships in deposit/transactional banking, equipment finance, financial markets, wealth, and insurance products.
  • Build and maintain strong business relationships and provide high quality lending to new and existing customers.
  • Regularly promote the Bank to optimize its market profile and growth prospects, including regular attendance at all relevant professional and industry groups and community-based forums.
  • Exercise Delegated Lending Authority (DLA) for loan approvals and scheduled reviews in accordance with Bank Policy and acceptable risk standards.
  • Internally you’ll take the lead in coaching and mentoring others and externally, you’ll have a high profile and strong market presence.

We currently have permanent full-time position available which can be based in Melbourne.

We offer flexible work options that put our people first, with a hybrid model of minimum 2 days per week.

We’re looking for a seasoned relationship manager with significant experience writing, analyzing and structuring credit transactions, preferably for commercial property customers. You’ll have a strong commercial property lending background and complex deal structuring experience.

A natural people-person, you’ll of course boast an impressive track record in business development, including the acquisition of new to bank customers and a well-established network of referral sources. You’ll make connections through related industry associations so need to be driven and motivated to grow your presence and personal profile leading to commercial property lending opportunities in the region.
