This encompasses an end to end process perspective of the customer’s credit experience, from identifying market opportunities through to operational and product process and design.
As Senior Manager, Consumer Credit Strategy & Insights and reporting to General Manager, Risk and Compliance you will lead the team that provides first line credit support to the Consumer division. As part of Risk Management and Compliance, this role is key for supporting the Consumer business with strong and resilient credit strategies and encompasses an end to end process perspective of the customer’s credit experience, from identifying market opportunities through to operational and product process and design.
Key accountabilities include:
- Work collaboratively with those areas that deliver the consumer credit experience, including Credit, Processing, Risk, operational teams and frontline distribution business to support business outcomes while managing credit risk and ensuring optimum returns for the Bank.
- Be a key representative on Group and business risk committees and key advisor on credit risk to the Consumer Division executive and leadership teams.
- Leverage strong credit risk fundamentals and technical skillsets across data, analytics and insight, strategy optimisation and credit policy as well as industry insights to support strong collaboration and influence with stakeholders and peers.
- Delivery of strategy implementation and where required build the tools to facilitate these strategies.
- Understand various drivers to credit strategy are impacted by competitors, regulatory settings, BEN’s risk appetite and business strategy.
- Drive the required changes across a broad range of stakeholders and to influence at the highest level.
- Draft credit policy for consideration that supports the agreed customer strategy
- Focus on implementation and outcomes of the design setting which impacts customers
About you
To be successful you will have
- Tertiary qualifications in Business or Finance related fields with Postgraduate qualification highly desirable
- Extensive banking experience preferably in leading credit risk functions and teams
- Demonstrated experience in credit risk strategy and implementation
- Understanding of credit policy and regulatory and compliance frameworks preferred
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to collaborate, influence and negotiate with all relevant stakeholders
- Demonstrated leadership capabilities including developing and managing high performing teams
- Self-driven, inquisitive, highly motivated and adaptable disposition

Ideally this role will be located at one of our Corporate Offices in Melbourne, Adelaide, Sydney or Bendigo but we can be open to location for the right candidate. We offer a flexible hybrid work arrangement with the expectation you are in the office 2 days per week.
