About the role
We have a permanent full-time opportunity for an Operational Risk Manager, supporting the Up Digital Bank Division (Digital Banking). A dynamic and varied role where you’ll support the implementation and management of the Operational Risk and Compliance Framework within the Division. This includes embedding the Operational Risk Management Framework, by ensuring that all risk and compliance activities are undertaken in a timely and accurate manner and escalating where required.
No two days will be the same as you seamlessly juggle multiple competing priorities, constantly adapting your communication style for various audiences, and recognising that you are often privy to sensitive and confidential information. There’s plenty of opportunity to make this role your own showcasing your outstanding organisation, attention to detail, and adding value with your own insights and recommendations.
You will form part of the Divisional Risk team that is a centre of expertise for risk management and compliance across a Division of the Bank and provides strategy, risk appetite, governance, policy and framework support to the business to drive sound risk management practice. This includes providing guidance, assistance and support to relevant Board & Board/Management Committee members, Senior Management, internal and external stakeholders and providing leadership to enhance the further development of a strong risk and compliance culture across the Bank.
In return you’ll gain exposure to a broad group of stakeholders to build strong relationships with and develop your knowledge and experience in the Risk & Compliance space. You’ll be an integral part of a highly collaborative, super engaged team, who love what they do!
Ideally this role will be based in Melbourne with a hybrid model of two days per week in the office.
About you
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Essential: 3-5+ years of Operational Risk in Banking & Financial Services (Line 1 or 2 Risk roles).
- Sound understanding of an enterprise risk management framework, and/or the Bank’s operations, products, policies and procedures is a bonus.
- Previous experience or knowledge of the Digital Banking industry (Deposits & Lending) is highly desirable.
- Previous experience in Compliance or Audit is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated initiative to work autonomously, think creatively, challenge the status quo, and apply insights and recommendations.
- Maturity, resilience, and a calm disposition coupled with energy, enthusiasm, and a collaborative mindset.
