Boral Roofing & Masonry (SA) is seeking an experienced individual to join our team as a Contracting Manager. In this role you will be responsible for coordinating labour, install Boral Roofing & Masonry products and accessories, liaise & work with the senior management team, establishing & maintaining relationships with customers and manage to estimate allocation, logistics & administration internal functions.
Reporting to the State Manager (SA), you will be based at Pooraka and duties and responsibilities of the role will include but not limited to:
- Ensuring compliance with statutory OHS&E requirements;
- Develop contracting management systems from estimating until completion of works;
- Manage job allocations including taking responsibility for scheduling delivery, selection and comply with all WH&S site issues;
- Ensure contractors comply with housekeeping standards;
- Source and train contractors as required;
- Facilitate meetings as required to discuss site issues with trades and/or customers to resolve problems that may have occurred;
- Completion of diary notes detailing specific site requirements or discussions;
- Identify and resolve non-compliance;
- Liaise with manufacturing, marketing & finance staff as necessary;
- Manage progress claims from contractors, invoicing on time, variations to contracts, estimating & tender process;
- Communicate with Builders, customers and sales personnel (internal & external);
- Participates in team processes and supports team decision;
- Analyse performance and seek continuous improvement opportunities;
- Share knowledge with stakeholders and address contracting issues.
To be considered for this role, you must have the following qualifications, experience, and attributes:
- Proven experience in management in contracting and contractor processes, and in the allocation of resources or product to customer sites;
- Familiarity with construction industry;
- Tertiary qualification in Building, Project Management or Contracts Management (desirable);
- Exposure to Lean practices (desirable);
- Strong people skills and communication/negotiation skills;
- Demonstrated ability to develop effective working relationships with all people, and to lead and influence people; and
- Personal drive and results-orientation.
