The Role
Boral Australia is seeking an experienced individual to deliver major capital projects in Boral operating areas. The Senior Project Manager role is an active role in defining and ensuring the success of a key portfolio of projects.
You will provide operational and commercial excellence and inspirational leadership whilst engendering a safe working environment.
Key Duties will include:
Zero Harm
- Fosters a culture of zero harm, monitors and reviews HSE performance and directs action
- Liaises with each business to understand and share Boral best practices in Health, Safety and Environment and ensures HSE improvements are implemented
Leadership
- Demonstrates Inspirational Leadership and coaching, cascading through the organisation
- Builds organisational capability through succession planning, coaching and team development
- Actively encourages diversity throughout the organisation
Commercial Excellence
- Drive operational excellence, effective use of assets & appropriate placement of capital expenditure
- Develop and implement an effective project governance system
- Develop and implement a Stakeholder Engagement Plan
- Ensure project delivery through controlling and monitoring scope, expenditure and risk.
- Deliver regular project reports to the Steering Committee
- Engage the relevant functional, technical and operational experts
- Compile project completion reports
- Economic modelling and assessment for investment decision making.
To be successful, you will have:
- Post Graduate qualifications in Project Management (desirable)
- Degree qualified in business/economics/engineering or a related discipline
- Extensive experience in the management of Major Projects (construction / civil construction/engineering)
- Demonstrable leadership skills
- Concrete, Asphalt and Quarries business experience (desired)
- Market evaluation and assessment experience
- Economic, technical and operational risk evaluation skills
- Experience in the process of Development applications, regulatory authorities and associated town planning schemes
- Project management / PMO experience
- Strong influencing, negotiation and relationship-building skills
- Advanced communication, organisational and decision-making skills
- High level of analytical, financial and commercial acumen with a Continuous Improvement focus
