About the Opportunity
We are actively seeking a Laboratory Manager to join our newly structured Technical Services team. Reporting to the Laboratory Services Manager, you will be responsible for the overseeing the daily operations of our Whinstanes and Ormeau Aggregates laboratories. As an integral member of our leadership team, you will maintain and continue to build the scope of our services whilst providing continuous support to our network of production labs across South-East Queensland.
Duties
- Maintaining overall laboratory standards to ensure the business meets product specifications and day to day product quality
- Working with the business product lines to improve, standardise and optimise field testing and laboratory solutions
- Maintaining laboratory standards and registration to NATA compliance requirements
- Leading and enforcing our safety requirements and initiatives
- Active mentoring and Training & Development of staff
- Effectively liaising with various internal and external stakeholders including management
Skills & Experience
The successful candidate must demonstrate:
- Proven experience in laboratory management/ supervision
- Previous Aggregate laboratory testing experience
- NATA signatory for Aggregates tests
- Ability to influence and embed positive working cultures, reliability and approachability
- Strong understanding of software applications for monitoring and reporting of data, including Microsoft Office Suite and Qestlab (desirable)
- Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
- Excellent stakeholder management skills
- Proven ability in safety leadership and implementation of key initiatives including continuous improvement
