The role
Cardno's Geoscience team is currently seeking highly motivated and passionate Senior / Associate Environmental Scientist / Engineer to join our Contaminated Land team in Victoria. Cardno currently operates offices in Melbourne CBD, Geelong and Ballarat (with flexibility to be based out of these locations). The Cardno Geoscience team provides environmental and geotechnical consultancy services ranging from advisory and management services, conducting extensive environmental evaluations, intrusive investigations (i.e. soil, sediment, Acid Sulfate Soils (ASS), surface water, leachate, landfill gas, vapour and groundwater), environmental audits, risk assessment, remediation services and geotechnical investigations at sites located across Australia

Your responsibilities will include -
- Managing contaminated land related projects and teams and providing accurate and efficient advice and support to ensure the successful delivery of Contaminated Land Services in accordance with client expectation, project schedule and budgets.
- Providing effective input into the assessment and management of the technical aspects and human and environmental impacts of the ongoing management and remediation of contaminated land sites including former landfills.
- Scope and design of contaminated land and groundwater investigations.
- Delivering on detailed analysis and recommendations for a range of projects, including brownfields and greenfields redevelopment, infrastructure, landfills, industrial sites.
- Building strong relationships with clients and contributing to key business development activities.
- Preparation of high quality proposals, technical reports and management plans.
- Mentoring junior staff in environmental science / engineering
About you
Ideally you will possess -
- Degree level qualifications in Environmental Science/Engineering, Geology, Hydrogeology, Environmental Chemistry or related field.
- Demonstrated 6 - 10 plus years' experience within the field of contaminated land assessment and/or environmental assessment and remediation.
- Strong analytical, reporting and verbal communication skills.
- A client service focus with strong interpersonal skills and an ability to work effectively in team environments.
- An ability to interpret and carry out instructions while ensuring safety is at the forefront of all operations.
- Ability to mentor/guide junior members of team.
- Valid/current driver's licence.
