Requirements
● Contributes to architecture and engineering governance across Catch, and connects their teams to broadly aligned architecture processes & patterns, and engineering practices & technologies
● Drives alignment on architecture vision and key solution decisions within their teams, collaborating and aligning with other technology leaders in their business area, and working with product leaders to decompose problem opportunities into incrementally deliverable pieces that incorporate movement to vision
● Drives a teach and learn culture in their teams, nurturing skills uplift and constant people growth
● Guides the implementation of Catch’s design system and reusable components library, working in close collaboration with user experience leaders
● Owns the vision and standards for frontend development of the catch.com.au website, working in close collaboration with senior technologists on these
● Co-owns with other technology leaders’ strategies that apply to all frontend experiences (web & mobile) such as API integration, content management, user analytics and A/B testing
● Chairs Catch’s frontend community of practice with an agenda of uplifting frontend knowledge across the organisation, aligning on technologies, techniques and standards, and connecting the organisation to industry innovation
Key Desired Skills
● Good understanding of the practice of domain driven design as it impacts large scale architecture, internal design, and cross-functional collaboration
● Strong knowledge of techniques for rapid frontend development, including the continuous delivery and observability of frontends
● Strong knowledge of site performance and perceived performance optimisation techniques, including the use of edge network technologies
● Strong knowledge of cross-browser compatibility, web accessibility and SEO techniques
● Expert knowledge of HTML, CSS-in-JS, Javascript, TypeScript and patterns for their organisation and coherence in large sites. Good knowledge of build technologies including Webpack & Babel
● Good knowledge of React, Next.js and GraphQL
