Rare opportunity to lead one of Australia's most iconic destination assets
Play a key role in shaping the future of a newly delivered world-class precinct
Drive commercial performance while creating an outstanding experience for customers, retailers and visitors
Sydney | Land of the Gadigal People
An exceptional opportunity exists for an experienced Senior Centre Manager to lead the on-site management of Sydney Fish Market, a landmark retail, food, tourism and community destination.
This is not a conventional centre management role.
You will take a leadership role in transitioning a newly delivered, complex precinct from establishment into stable, high-performing operations. Working closely with our client as part of a co-located team, you will lead the Centre Management Team and have overall accountability for the financial, operational, customer, retailer, risk and compliance performance of the asset.
Highly visible and engaged across the precinct, you will build strong relationships with retailers, customers and stakeholders, using commercial insight and real-time feedback to continually improve the performance and experience of the destination.
About the role
As Senior Centre Manager, you will be CBRE's senior on-site representative and a trusted adviser to our client.
You will provide leadership across all aspects of the precinct, balancing day-to-day operational excellence with the strategic and commercial focus required to establish Sydney Fish Market as a high-performing destination.
Key responsibilities will include:
  • Lead the transition of the precinct into successful business-as-usual operations, driving overall asset performance and delivering the annual Business and Asset Plans.
  • Build and lead a high-performing Centre Management Team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration and service excellence.
  • Develop a trusted partnership with the client, providing strategic advice on performance, opportunities and operational risks.
  • Grow visitation, customer engagement, retailer performance and overall commercial outcomes across the precinct.
  • Build strong relationships with retailers and key stakeholders, including government, tourism, community and commercial partners.
  • Partner with Leasing and Marketing teams to optimise tenancy mix, destination awareness and precinct performance.
  • Drive continuous improvement through financial, customer, visitation and operational insights.
  • Ensure high standards of safety, compliance, presentation and operational excellence across the asset.
About you
You are an experienced property, retail or destination leader with strong commercial acumen and a hands-on leadership style. Equally comfortable engaging with retailers on the ground as you are reviewing financial performance and shaping strategy, you thrive in dynamic environments and bring the ability to solve problems, influence stakeholders and lead teams through change.
Ideally you will bring:
  • 5+ years' experience in senior retail, mixed-use, tourism, destination or comparable property management roles.
  • Experience leading large, customer-facing assets and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Strong financial and commercial capability, including budgeting, forecasting and business planning.
  • Proven ability to build trusted relationships with clients, retailers and diverse stakeholder groups.
  • Experience opening, establishing or stabilising a new asset will be highly regarded.
  • Strong analytical, communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • A commitment to safety, compliance and operational excellence.
So, what's in it for you?
  • Lead one of Australia's most recognisable destination assets
  • Significant leadership profile and stakeholder exposure
  • Work alongside highly experienced client and property professionals
  • Influence the ongoing success of a landmark Sydney precinct
  • Be part of the world's largest commercial real estate services and investment firm
