Property Accountant | Casual Mall Leasing
- Build on your property accounting experience with broader exposure
- Work across invoicing, reconciliations, debtors, reporting and revenue tracking
- Learn the finance behind Retail Experience Leasing and casual mall leasing
- Partner with leasing, centre and finance teams across the portfolio
The Opportunity:
If you've built a foundation in property accounting and you're ready to see a different side of the industry, this role gives you the chance to build on what you already know while gaining exposure to retail leasing.
CBRE is looking for a Property Accountant to support the finance and administration behind Retail Experience Leasing, including casual mall leasing across a retail property portfolio.
You'll work across invoicing, reconciliations, debtors, reporting and revenue tracking, while partnering with people across finance, leasing and retail centre teams.
You don't need to come in knowing everything about Retail Experience Leasing. A good grounding in property accounting or property finance is the important part. From there, you'll build your understanding of licence agreements, leasing activity and the finance that sits behind it.
In this role, you will:
- Prepare and issue invoices for licence agreements, including multi-site and national arrangements.
- Reconcile transactions, bookings and billings, and assist with tracking unallocated funds across properties.
- Prepare weekly debtor reporting and support arrears follow-up with sales and centre teams.
- Assist with month-end reporting, revenue tracking, variance analysis, budgets and forecasts.
- Maintain accurate licence records, databases and financial systems.
- Respond to day-to-day finance queries from internal and external stakeholders.
- Work closely with Retail Leasing Executives, centre teams, finance teams and national partners.
- Support audit requirements, reporting changes and improvements to finance processes.
About you:
You've built a solid foundation in property accounting or property finance and are looking for a role where you can keep developing those skills while getting exposure to something a little different.
You're comfortable working with the detail, confident following things through and happy working with people across different parts of the business.
- Experience in property accounting, property finance or a closely related finance role.
- Practical experience with invoicing, reconciliations, debtors or financial reporting.
- Good Excel skills and confidence learning different financial and property systems.
- Strong attention to detail and an organised approach to your work.
- Confidence communicating with both finance and non-finance stakeholders.
- Experience with Vision, MRI or a short-term booking platform would be useful, but isn't essential.
Why this role and CBRE?
This is a good next step if you enjoy property accounting but want your next role to give you more variety and broader exposure.
You'll keep using your core accounting skills while seeing more of the commercial activity behind the numbers, from how leasing income is billed and reconciled through to how revenue is tracked and reported.
You'll also work with people across finance, leasing and retail operations, giving you broader exposure without moving away from the property experience you've already built.
When you join CBRE, you become part of a global leader in commercial real estate services and investment that helps businesses and people thrive. Our collaborative culture is built on our shared values of respect, integrity, service and excellence, and we value the diverse perspectives, backgrounds and skillsets of our people.
If you enjoy property accounting but want your next move to give you a little more variety and exposure, this is a great opportunity to build that breadth.
Please note the successful applicant will be required to undertake pre-employment background screening by our external third-party provider.
