Your Team
This role sits within the Customer Office at CFS, leading the Marketing Strategy and Transformation team in the Brand and Customer Engagement (B&CE) function. The B&CE team shapes and delivers brand, marketing and customer engagement strategies that drive customer outcomes and growth across Direct and Employer segments, supported by enterprise centres of excellence including Data & Analytics, Digital and Corporate Communications.
You are accountable for setting the strategy, operating model and performance framework that enable the team to deliver at scale. Operating across lifecycle marketing, marketing transformation and operations, you translate enterprise and customer strategy into a prioritised, governed marketing agenda that links activity to clear customer and commercial outcomes, with portfolios and journeys as the organising unit. This role is responsible for creating the strategic, operational and performance environment that enables the team to deliver consistent, high-quality outcomes.
Your Responsibilities
Strategy & Planning
- Own the marketing strategy across Superannuation, Retirement and Investments, as well as the B&CE annual and quarterly planning and prioritisation cycle.
- Translate enterprise and customer strategy into a governed, sequenced and funded marketing agenda with clear priorities, dependencies and success measures.
- Ensure marketing strategies are insight‑led, customer‑first and aligned to commercial objectives and regulatory expectations.
- Provide strategic leadership on customer needs, segmentation, targeting, positioning and experience design to drive growth, retention and engagement.
- Lead the strategic go to market approach for major new initiatives, products and propositions.
- Maintain a forward-looking view of the marketing industry, regulatory and consumer environment to ensure marketing strategy remains effective, compliant and future ready.
- Build strong senior stakeholder relationships across the Customer Office, Product, Advice, and Risk to enable alignment and delivery.
Change & Transformation Leadership
- Lead as a strategic enabler of scale, quality and efficiency across B&CE.
- Contribute to the future state vision for marketing strategy, operations and delivery at CFS.
- Lead ongoing change across ways of working, decision‑making, capability and technology adoption.
- Partner with Digital, Data, and Risk teams to unlock value from marketing platforms and data.
Marketing Operations & Execution Enablement
- Set and embed standards for workflow, governance, tooling utilisation, throughput and execution quality.
- Drive simplification of end‑to‑end marketing processes, reducing rework, hand‑offs and cycle times.
- Establish repeatable ways of working (e.g. SOPs, SLAs, engagement models) and ensure sustained adoption across teams.
- Strengthen reporting discipline and performance visibility from intake to delivery and outcomes.
- Supplier management - performance management, terms etc
Your Capability and Experience
- Senior marketer with extensive demonstrated experience in financial services (superannuation, wealth or retirement strongly preferred)
- Strong senior stakeholder and people leader, collaborative and adaptable, with the ability to influence cross‑functionally and build high‑performing teams in fast‑paced environments.
- Proven experience operating at enterprise and portfolio level, setting strategy and operating discipline.
- Deep understanding of superannuation, investment and retirement markets, including customer, commercial and regulatory drivers, with a strong customer‑first mindset.
- Strong commercial and analytical capability, linking marketing investment to value creation through data‑led insights, performance measurement and optimisation.
- Demonstrated change and transformation leader with a track record of adopting new processes, tools and performance frameworks, and motivating teams through periods of change.
- Extensive experience designing and leading modern marketing operating models, including marketing operations, ways of working, governance and risk management in regulated environments.
- Data‑led with the ability to synthesise complex information into clear insights and recommendations.
- Experience in driving programs and outcomes via sophisticated Martech stacks.
- Experience with Adobe, including WorkFront is highly desirable.
- Strong governance and risk mindset, with experience operating in regulated environments.
- Collaborative leader with a solution‑oriented mindset who builds trust, models constructive behaviours and leads high‑performing teams through change.
- Excellent written and verbal communication—able to make complex topics accessible, clear and compelling.
