Your Team

The Regulatory Affairs team plays a crucial role in supporting positive customer outcomes by ensuring CFS meets its regulatory obligations with transparency and integrity. By maintaining strong relationships with key regulators and responding promptly to enquiries, they help create a secure and trusted environment that empowers more Australians to achieve financial freedom.

Your Responsibilities

The position involves leading a small team to take ownership and accountability for ensuring CFS maintains strong, positive relationships with APRA and ASIC, by ensuring that CFS is responding to regulatory enquiries in a timely, professional and transparent manner.

  • Develop and maintain the regulatory engagement framework and protocols.
  • Lead a small team to facilitate the coordination of responses to regulatory inquiries, review and thematic assessments with key internal stakeholders to a standard of excellence within required timeframes,
  • Serve as a point of contact and maintain trusted relationships with key internal stakeholders and regulators (APRA and ASIC).
  • Assist in the development of papers, submissions and briefs in response to regulatory proposals and consultations.
  • Provide expert advice to senior executives, business units, on regulatory expectations.
  • Prepare high-quality reports, dashboards and briefings for the Risk Committee, Executive Leadership Teams and Boards.

Your Capability and Experience

  • Relevant qualifications in Law, Finance, Public Policy, Compliance or other related fields
  • Demonstrated experience in regulatory affairs, legal, and/or risk and compliance within the wealth management sector.
  • Ability to work in a high-paced collaborative team environment and manage stakeholders at all levels to ensure CFS is able to meet its regulatory response obligations in a timely manner.
  • Strategic thinker with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and advocacy skills.
  • High level of integrity, discretion, and professional ethics.
  • Collaborative leadership style with a commitment to continuous improvement.
