The Project
The CPB Contractors, Ghella & UGL joint venture has been successful in securing the contract to deliver the $2.6bn M6 Stage 1 project. The project will deliver the missing link from Sydney’s south to the wider Sydney motorway network making journeys easier, faster and safer. It will remove more than 2,000 trucks a day from surface roads and help return local streets to local communities.
With works commencing in early 2022, the M6 Stage 1 project scope includes the construction of twin four-kilometre tunnels and associated works, linking the M8 Motorway at Arncliffe to President Avenue at Kogarah.
The Opportunity
We currently have an opportunity for an experience Project Controls Engineer to join the M6 Stage 1 Project. This role will work in the Finance Team reporting to the Forecasting Manager.
Key accountabilities include:
- Forecasting, risk management, phasing and reporting processes
- Providing direct support to Forecasting Manager in the monthly forecasting cycle.
- Reviewing the projects (sites) cost management process to ensure end of month cycle is timely, accurate and robust.
- Supporting the implementation of internal forecasting software (FPM), adopting clearly established assumptions to analyse actuals versus forecasted costs and revenues.
- Configuration, maintenance and coordinating of the project systems: FPM (internal forecasting software), Rover (daily costing and productivity system), Power BI (finance reports visualisation).
- Progress Claim Preparation – collaborate with key staff across the project to prepare the monthly progress claim submission including supporting schedules.
- Developing and delivering commercial/ financial management training for Staff
About You
The successful candidate will be required to hold a current Construction Industry Induction Card (White Card or equivalent) and undergo a medical assessment (including drug and alcohol testing) prior to commencement.
- Tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Quantity Surveying or Accounting
- Experience in a similar position for construction projects using a forecasting and earned value system
- Excel and Power BI (Intermediate to Advanced)
- Self-managing and motivated
- Working to tight deadlines
- Review and critique own work for accuracy
