The Project
The CPB Contractors, Ghella & UGL joint venture has been successful in securing the contract to deliver the $2.6bn M6 Stage 1 project. The project will deliver the missing link from Sydney’s south to the wider Sydney motorway network making journeys easier, faster and safer. It will remove more than 2,000 trucks a day from surface roads and help return local streets to local communities.
With works commenced in early 2022, the M6 Stage 1 project scope includes the construction of twin four-kilometre tunnels and associated works, linking the M8 Motorway at Arncliffe to President Avenue at Kogarah
The Opportunity
This is a great opportunity to further develop your Stakeholder Engagement & Community Relations skills in a fast-paced environment while being supported by a great team.
Some of your daily responsibilities will include;
- Supporting Project Teams to create accurate notifications and ensure works program can be carried out
- Submitting notifications to the client in a timely manner to ensure works program is met
- Producing accurate notifications that follow the latest style guide prescribed
- Conducting regular work program meetings to help inform the client of the current works program
- Updating the Complaints Register
- Analysing, investigating and following up queries and complaints, as appropriate, developing action plans, monitoring progress and outcomes
- Educating and coaching Project Team members to understand contractual requirements in relation to the community and understand and effectively handle community concerns
- Developing appropriate communication tools (e.g. presentation material, press releases, letters) to convey JV and client key messages honestly and in the most effective way for the target audience(s)
About You
The successful candidate will have the following;
- 1-3 years minimum in Community Relations, Public Relations, Communication, customer service or similar experience
- Developed organisation skills
- Good communication including active listening, persuasive speech, writing and presenting
- Good writing skills with the ability to prepare a wide variety of communication materials for internal and external audiences
- Effective time management with flexibility to be single as well as multi task focused
- Understanding of relationship management including empathy, cultural understanding, practical skills and or training in negotiation and facilitation
- Problem solving and conflict management abilities
- Team player with positive, confident approach to working with people
- Planning, coordinating and administration including computer literacy
The successful candidate will be required to hold a current Construction Industry Induction Card (White Card or equivalent) and undergo a medical assessment (including drug and alcohol testing) prior to commencement.
