
Group Head of Industrial Relations

Reporting to the Group EGM Employee Relations & Wellbeing and managing a team of three direct reports, the Group Head of Industrial Relations will assist and work together with the Group EGM Employee Relations & Wellbeing to negotiate enterprise agreements across Crown Melbourne, Crown Perth and Crown Sydney as well as supporting the Company’s annual and longer-term business objectives.
This role will provide specialist guidance and legislative advice to stakeholders on complex employee relations cases. The Group Head of Industrial Relations, in conjunction with relevant departments, will also ensure and monitor compliance with industrial instruments, the Fair Work Act and Regulations, and other applicable legislation as applicable.
Some responsibilities of the role will include, but are not limited to:
- Assisting the Group EGM Employee Relations & Wellbeing with setting the employee relations strategy for Crown Resorts
- Conducting detailed reviews year on year to determine areas of improvement within the employee relations function.
- Leading the renegotiation of the Enterprise Bargaining Agreements (EBA’s) across Crown Melbourne, Crown Perth and Crown Sydney.
- Researching, planning and negotiation of employment related agreements and related contracts that complement Crown’s strategic direction including the development of supporting policies and communication programs.
- Pre-negotiation planning, coordination, attendance, and support of the negotiation meetings, organising the ballot and vote process and Fair Work application.
- Providing current industrial and legislative advice, support, and training to management and the People & Culture Business Partnering team to ensure appropriate actions are taken to resolve or prevent industrial issues relevant to conditions of and claims related to enterprise agreements.
- Maintaining effective communication and relationships with all industrial bodies and internal stakeholders.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Significant demonstrable Industrial Relations experience including complex Enterprise Agreement negotiation.
- Experience within strategy development and business planning.
- A strong knowledge of the Fair Work Act, Regulations and related legislation.
- Employee Relations experience, including the interpretation of Modern Awards and Enterprise Agreements.
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to guide and influence as appropriate
- Previous experience leading a high performing and engaged team
- A tertiary qualification in Employment Law, Industrial Relations, or other relevant discipline will be highly regarded
