Reporting to the Chief Property Design & Development Officer, as the Group General Manager Interior Design, you will lead, direct and manage the aesthetic design outcomes Crown’s major redevelopment projects. This is a design management and guidance role working with some of the world’s leading interior design firms. In this role, you will also carry out reviews, design direction and advice for design development and delivery of major projects to ensure Crown standards are met for workmanship, materials and finishes, including overall presentation.
As Crown Resorts transforms its business, Chief Property Design & Development Officer, Michael Gebhard is looking to grow his team. As a result, we have some exciting opportunities available to contribute to the strategy and execution of the future of Crown.

Some responsibilities of the role will include, but are not limited to:
- Conduct design reviews and critiques for all major projects. This includes design review with designers, documentation review and samples and prototype reviews. Liaise with Project Managers and Project Co-ordinators to maintain control of expenditure to ensure completion of projects within budget.
- Review all design work for aesthetics, fit for purpose, sympathy of design details with adjoining spaces and brand awareness.
- Provide design direction with delivery teams, including specialist lighting, feature screens, bespoke architectural features.
- Critique Furniture, Fixtures and Equipment selections by external consultants for budget, aesthetic and operational aspects. Review shop drawings and materials selections for bespoke furniture items including joinery.
- Prepare and issue Budget Cost Estimates and run full cost reports for projects.
- QA/Defects review of prototypes and finished works.
- Lead and develop the team’s skills, expertise and capabilities.
To be successful, you will need:
- Degree or diploma in Design Discipline (Interior Design) preferred.
- Extensive experience working in an interior design environment on large projects within hospitality and entertainment, with an extensive and current knowledge of products and materials.
- Ability to prepare set of preliminary working drawings for discussion with stakeholders, suppliers, contractors and team members, as well as the ability to critique details which can affect projects with the ability to source and investigate new materials and finishes with a knowledge of specifications and standards.
- Have a creative instinct and flair with a key understanding of principles of design and design trends.
- Strong leadership experience in building and leading teams.
