The role:
This exciting role will drive the technical product data and sales operations excellence for Mercedes-Benz Trucks, as the Product and Master data Specialist. In this challenging role, you will support the Mercedes-Benz Product and Sales Operations teams to define and specify Mercedes-Benz Trucks products together with dealers to deliver consistent MB products and pipeline to our customers.
Based at the head office in Mulgrave and reporting to the Manager - Product and Planning, your key responsibilities will include:
- Define and specify MB products with Australian and New Zealand dealers
- Ensure vehicle and wholesale processing guidelines are met
- Configure chassis to meet market and homologation requirements
- Support strategic analysis of market trends and support transition of product specification and Master Data tasks
- Provide technical support to engineering and product teams as required
- Maintain Master Data management and specification development for the seamless integration to ordering processing systems
- Support sales operation functions including sales planning, vehicle ordering and logistics
- Manage truck sale orders and specification changes through factory system and SAP
- Collaborate with key stakeholders in DAG to secure production quota and special customer requirements
- Assist the Sales and Aftersales Team with the management of vehicle specification and stock inquiries
Who we are looking for:
To be the successful candidate, you will be self-motivated and have exceptional verbal and written communication skills. You will be highly organised, can lead from example and have strong attention to detail. You will have some experience in manufacturing and service of commercial vehicles and have solid communication, negotiation and conflict resolution skills. The successful candidate will have an understanding of project management and tender submissions too.
Ideally, the candidate will have wholesale dealer management experience along with commercial vehicle knowledge and sales/manufacturing experience. Proficiency in Microsoft programs including Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint and Project is required alongside SAP. It is preferred that the candidate has a Mechanical Engineering or similar qualification and technical expertise.
Tertiary qualification in a related discipline is preferred.
