With the Department of Local Government, Industry Regulation and Safey (LGIRS), our work spans a wide range of areas—from strengthening local government and protecting workers’ safety to regulating industries and improving customer services. Our services include WorkSafe, industry regulation and consumer protection, labour relations, building and energy regulation and support of local government, regulation of the gambling and liquor industries and corporate support services.

Opportunities

This register may be used to fill a range of available opportunities across LGIRS, including:

  • Fixed-term appointments to cover leave, acting or other vacancies, or projects with a finite life,

Being on the register does not guarantee employment, but you may be contacted if a suitable opportunity arises.

Eligibility

You must be an Australian citizen, Australian permanent resident or hold a visa that entitles you to live and work in Australia for the term of the employment contract.

To be employed with LGIRS, you must meet the pre-employment requirements of the position and provide consent to undertake relevant pre-employment screening, which may include a Conflict of Interest Declaration, medical assessment, psychometric assessment, Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check (NCCHC), and/or other relevant checks and clearances.

To register your interest, we ask for you to provide a detailed resume outlining your key achievements, work history, education and professional development along with details of two referees.

Once you’ve got this ready please click ‘Talent Register’.

Your details will stay on our temporary register for three (3) months, after which time, you will need to reapply.
