Some of our diversity-focussed initiatives in Australia & New Zealand are:
- FUEL - a community and professional development program for emerging female talent to support women into leadership roles. The curriculum includes professional development workshops, coaching, lunchtime connect sessions, web-based learning, and participation in a variety of industry and leadership events to facilitate networking.Â
- Young women in IT and Engineering - Paid undergraduate scholarships
- Young Professionals - a community and professional development program for graduates who have been at Ericsson 0-5 years. It's flagship event is the annual 2.5 day Young Professionals Summit.
- Diverse Cultures – an employee community that raises awareness and celebrates different cultures and beliefs.
- Diversity Council Australia (DCA) - Ericsson is a member of Diversity Council Australia (DCA). DCA is the independent not-for-profit peak body leading diversity and inclusion in the workplace. They provide unique research, inspiring events and programs, curated resources and expert advice across all diversity dimensions to a community of member organisations.
Ericsson and the local community
We believe in getting involved in the community and we do this in several ways, for example;
- Ericsson Response, a disaster relief program established in 2000 and staffed by volunteer Ericsson employees to provide connectivity in humanitarian emergencies.
- Partnerships with a number of specialist organisations supporting disadvantaged and under-represented groups into paid internships with Ericsson, including CareerSeekers (supporting refugees and asylum seekers) and Specialisterne (supporting neuro-diverse talent).
- Employee action group-led support of several NFPs, such as Movember and Country Women's Association (CWA).
- Prime Minister's Veterans Employment Commitment - Ericsson is a signatory to the Veterans Employment Commitment declaring that we value the skills and experience of ex-ADF members and will consider veterans for employment opportunities.
